FROM ROUNDWOOD TO SAWNWOOD

Generally we obtain our roundwood from the regional area. According to wood acquisition, our suppliers are mostly farmers and small forest owners from the immediate environment. Most of them have already been our loyal suppliers for decades. Furthermore, the wood is transported to the sawmill by our company truck.

Since the winter of 2008, the timber has been measured by means of the new roundwood sorting system and is sorted out by Mr. Ferdinand Schuster himself. During the same process, debarking is also carried out. Before the acquisition of the sorting system, the measuring was done manually in the forest or at the sawmill location.

We are pleased to have reliable partners with the farmers and forest owners of our environment who supply us with good quality from sustainable timber management. Therefore, it was also a matter for us to be certified according to the PEFC guidelines.
